DIVAA^™Angioreactorsare onecentimeterlongcylindersthatissealedononeendandhouses20μltotalvolume.Theyare madeofimplant-gradesiliconeandprovidedsterile.AngioreactorsarefilledwithTrevigen’sPathClear®basementmembraneextract(BME)*premixedwithorwithoutangiogenic-modulatingfactorsand implantedsubcutaneouslyinthedorsalflankofnudemice. Throughtheprocessofangiogenesis,hostvascularendothelialcellsproceedtoinvadeandgrowintotheBME,formingvesselsintheangioreactor. ThesleekdesignoftheangioreactorprovidesastandardizedplatformforreproducIBLeandquantifiableinvivoangiogenesisassays.Comparedtotheplugassay,theangioreactorpreventsassayerrorsduetoabsorptionofthebasementmembraneextractbythemouse.Inaddition,theangioreactorusesonlyafractionofthematerialsconservingbothBMEandtestcompoundsused,anduptofourangioreactorsmaybeimplantedineachmouse,allowingforgreaterstatisticalpower. Theseareanessentialcomponentof theDirectedInVivoAngiogenesisAssays(DIVAA^™).
